Anna you are 1 month old! It has gone by so quickly and you have grown so much! At your one month doctor’s appointment you weighed 8 lbs 15 oz (same as your brother!) and were 20.5 in long. Perfect!
We have so enjoyed welcoming you into our family. You make us all so very happy. You are still sporting your baby blue eyes but have started to lose your light brown hair you had at birth. Your brother did this too. We called him an old man with a cul-de-sac. We also call you an old man, ha! It’s crazy to watch your hair recede a little bit more each day.
You are a great eater and you love to nurse too. You are ready to eat every 2-3 hours during the day and have recently stretched out to every 3-4 hours at night. Also like your brother, you are a spitter. We do a lot of laundry full of burp cloths and bibs. We’ve tried numerous things to help you spit up less and think we’ve finally started to make progress.
You are very particular with how you will sleep at night. During the day you can knock off anywhere, but at night the conditions have to be just right. You sleep next to us in the bassinet with your head propped up to help with your spit up. You also like to nurse yourself to sleep. I personally am enjoying this newborn stage so much more than with James. Not that I didn’t enjoy James, its just that I feel like I have a better handle on what to do with you and feel better emotionally for me. Plus watching you interact with your brother does my heart good.
Your first official outing was to our neighborhood block party across the street. You were one week old! It won’t be long before you’re running amuck with all the other kids on our street!
We then took you to your first pumpkin patch to help celebrate Grampa’s birthday. You were two weeks old. There were lots of other little newborns there as well!
Then we went to Stone Mountain with the other side of the family at 3 weeks old. You were perfect! You slept pretty much the whole time. Your brother on the hand pooped in his pants, TWICE. But we won’t talk about that here. And that’s also why your dad is only wearing an undershirt. But again, we won’t talk about that here.
And then I took you to your first movie at 4 weeks old! Mama’s friend Liz invited us to come to a preview showing of the movie “A Birth Story” by Ina Mae Gaskin. You also slept through this experience as well, but it may be just as well since there were several live births depicted. Having just been through this with you, it was a special experience for us.
We have several nicknames for you. Bugger, Buggerdee, Missy Miss, Peanut, Baby Sister, Baby Girl, Sweet Girl, and Sister Grunts A Lot. Sorry to say it Anna, but you spend a lot of time grunting. While waking up, falling to sleep, while playing, while changing your diaper, while you’re eating…pretty much all the time.
These are your official One Month Photos! I thought it would be great to see how big you’re getting in relation to the glider in the your nursery. The pink blanket was knitted for you by your Mimi. Its just prefect for your monthly photos. You make the best faces sweet girl.
I think we should add “sweet cheeks” to our list of names!
Or maybe just “baldy”?
Just kidding, we love you, hair or no hair baby girl!! You’re precious! Happy One Month.
Love, Mama and Mpampa
