The Front Porch Swing: Anna

Anna at 2 months you are such a good baby. You have just fit right in with our family and are changing every day. We visited a lot with Great Mimi when she was up from Florida and you took to her very well. And who wouldn’t! Look at this love.

You have enjoyed kicking and moving so much this month. Its fun to watch you go! You’re working so hard on controlling your skinny little arms and legs.

This month you haven’t been interested in eating as much as your first month. I think its because you were focusing on growing and learning. You eat 6 to 7 times a day and sometimes have to been convinced to do so! You weigh 10 lbs 13 oz and are 22 and a half inches long.

You started to squeak out a few real smiles and coos and we look forward to many more! James loves to hear you “talk” and mimics the sounds you make.

We’ve been working on tummy time and you are getting so much stronger.

You love to be in the middle of the action and we love to have you hanging around.

Your hair from birth is still slowly falling out and the new hair growing in is a dark blonde color, sometimes reddish looking. It’s still a mystery to us! But one things for sure, your mohawk is precious.

Your favorite thing to do is to study your hands and practice bringing them to your mouth. I love watching you work at this.

The most common comment we get when we’re out is “look at those lashes!” And I couldn’t agree more, look at them! You’re just beautiful Anna.

You’re starting to sleep longer stretches at night. Some nights you’ll do a 6 or a 7, but lately you’re back to 4s. It doesn’t take much to get you back to sleep luckily, and I’m hoping you’ll be able to put yourself back to sleep soon too. But for the most part I enjoy our middle of the night encounters. Holding your warm sleepy body just melts my heart. And if you add in a sleeping smile or two, I’m a goner.

After Thanksgiving we headed up to the tree farm to find our tree. You were the only one willing to sit on Santa’s lap though! Its so fun to take you places and like I’ve said before, you’re such a good baby. No tears unless you’re REALLY hungry or you’re tired/overstimulated. We’ve been following the principles of the “90 minute sleep solution” and its crazy how well this works. It makes us both very happy!
