How to eat year old cake

Last weekend George and I celebrated our one year anniversary. We took the best vacation yet. Very relaxing, accommodating for the girls, and close to home! We spent time at the beach, the pool, bike riding and also spent some time with friends. We loved our home away from home for the long weekend. We followed the tradition of eating the top of our wedding cake on our anniversary. My parents had lovingly preserved the cake in their freezer for a year and we were all set to eat it on the 26th. Once 11:39am rolled around I figured it was finally late enough to eat cake. We pulled out the Tupperware, sealed twice with packing tape and crossed our fingers.

The Pavillion did a great job packing it up from the reception,
and gave us this subtle reminder.

One layer of wax paper, and two layers of heavy duty foil separated us from tasty buttercream frosting.

Now the question was, would it taste good??

Looks like it was a hit!

We definitely enjoyed this treat all weekend. To all my upcoming bride friends, take note, this was a great way to relive the moments from the last year! Good luck to you all!

To my 1 year old hubby, here's to hundreds more.
