News from the home

Well, I've been a stay at home wife/dog mom for four days now. And I'm still not sure if I've driven George to drink yet. Bless his heart he has to work in the same house as I'm cleaning, packing, throwing away, entertaining the dogs, and myself with great mid-day television (read the sarcasm). But truly we've made great progress on packing and it feels so amazing to throw out things I've been hording since college. I mean what did I think I would do with 4 sealed copies of my transcripts from Clemson? Will my kids really care what mommy's grades were!? I saved one just in case. The dogs seem to be taking all the commotion very well. We did take them to the beach this week as a reward, which really turned out to be torture for George and I. Walking them was like wrangling wild horses. Two leashes and two crazy puppies make for many tangles and pulling in all directions. In complete frustration I went to peruse the local Ross for deals on pet products. Buried deep under unwanted pet toys were two doggie harnesses. I then headed next door for the leash coupler for two. I couldn't wait to get home and try out the new contraptions on the girls. I tried a harness on Laney first. My goodness how she looked like a remedial student of the dog walking school!! She's way smarter than the harness made her look, but at least she's not choking herself anymore. However, a squirmy puppy makes it less than desirable to hook up all the gear for a quick walk through the neighborhood. They did very well on the trial run with the leash coupler thing. I like to think we're teaching them team work at a young age. Next they will recite poems from their library books.

(This picture is before all the nifty equipment I discussed above!)
