Tricks and Treats

Today I caved. I am no longer able to resist the power of seasonal candy corn, particularly the Harvest Mix. I’m not keen on the chocolate ended ones, but I can’t do without the pumpkins. And a whole bag of pumpkins and a whole bag of traditional is way too much for this girl. A couple weeks ago my sweet hubby came home with the “smallest portion [he] could find” to give me my fix. Although this was a thoughtful gesture, these tiny portioned corns were not Brachs. And its not candy corn unless its Brachs. I’ve done well so far today, eating only a few handfuls….now what was that about calling to schedule with the dentist to get my cavities filled?

For those of you who have met our littlest pup, Laney, know that when I say we have signed her up for obedience class you should commence jumping up and down. The kid needs it like crazy. And because she’s getting a late start in the world of professional training, we have signed her up for the Miss Manners class. Well not really Miss, but it IS called the Pet Manners class. We have discovered so many trainable traits of Laney over the last months since we’ve been in Atlanta. I half expect the teachers to recommend private lessons until she can behave herself in class. Lately she has displayed her extreme over protectiveness of George and I, and especially Glory. This also translates to jealously and separation anxiety when Glory gets pets or goes outside without her. And people, these are just the dogs! How, oh how, do I prevent these things for my kids!

In any case, I’ve loaded up on bite sized treats, for me and for Laney, and am mentally preparing for whatever the teachers suggest for our sweet Lane.

After that, I may eat the entire bag of candy corn after all.
