Free Willy

Even though I have a back log of posts I want to write for you all, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell about what's happening in our house right now.

Well first lets start outside the house. It's raining. Like big rain. The back yard is a mud pit. Remember that over grown bamboo? Well it's been out done by the mud tracks running through the yard courtesy of Glory. The rain just makes matters worse. Both dogs refuse to do their business in the rain and its forecasted to rain all week. Fantastic. Laney does her best to try and fool me into thinking that half squat/sit thing she did while I'm getting rained on holding the other end of the leash was a pee squat. Kid, I ain't that dumb. Glory on the other hand flat out refuses to leave the house in the rain. Add in the scary thunder sound and she's no where to be found. That was hours ago and yet still no messes to clean up. I'm raising camels people.

After chatting with mom for an hour on her rainy rush hour ride home, I start cleaning the house. Glory is curled up in her "safe from all danger spot" shaking like a leaf because its still thundering. And Laney is chasing the swiffer duster as I try my best to make things look better. (By the way if you've never dusted with this handy tool before, run out now, in the rain and buy one! It's the only way dusting in this house ever gets done.

This leads me to my second favorite cleaning device. The Dust Buster. Spider webs in the corner – no problem! Dog hair billowing along the base boards – just suck it up! So I'm working my way up the stairs vacuuming up dog hair and dust and the girls are running up and down beside me. They can't figure out if up or down is safer from the thunder.  When I reach the top they're crazy and rambunctious and I'm zapping cob webs and dog hair bunnies with the greatest of ease, and then I spot it. Really it was hard to miss. It's bright green. And the dogs are acting like they had nothing to do with it. I get closer to see what I'm in for.

I named him Willy Chunk. Totally reminds me of that guy on A Bugs Life. What was his name? After banishing the dogs from picking him up, probably for the second or third or who knows how many times, I poked him. With three layers of Kleenex between me and it. He moved! Well squirmed? No maybe rolled? over. And do you see that electric green mark on the Kleenex? Yeah, that was on my carpet too! He got so scared he slimed my floor! So me being just as scared, I pick him up and put him in the trash, tie it off and take him down stairs.

What happened next can only be described as guilt. I mean the guy was still flopping around. I couldn't just let him die in Kleenex in my trash can. And selfishly…what if he came to and crawled OUT of my trash! He'd leave a trail of slime so at least I could find him, but still! I just cleaned! So instead, just like my husband taught me, I freed Willy (chunk). I braved the giant rain drops, thunder and lighting and released him into the wild (bushes). But, first I took his picture for your blogging enjoyment :).

Ok so this is, by far, one of my favorite blogs you’ve posted. There are many reasons why it’s my favorite, so I’ll just go down the list:

1.Laney fake pees. That’s hilarious.

2.Laney chases Swifter dusters. Millie, on the other hand, is scared TO DEATH of them and refuses to be in the same room with me while I dust. I mean, does she think it’s another fuzzy animal that I decided to shove a stick into and rub all over the furniture??

3. We share a love for Swifter dusters. In fact, I love all Swifter products. The Swifter Sweeper is fantastic for hardwoods. Try it if you haven’t.

4.You discover a little friend in your house and name him “Willy Chunk”. I busted out laughing when I read that. I also like his shade of green. Very pretty!

5. I’m kinda glad you set him free and he wasn’t left to die in your trash. I know he’s only a worm, but I would have felt bad for the little booger.

Ok. That’s all. I'm pretty sure this is the longest comment you've had. Sorry.
