Over Labor Day George and I (and Peanut) flew to Minneapolis. Why may you ask did we go to Minnesota?!
To visit these fine folks!
Michael and Kalle were excellent hosts and we had such a good time exploring their new city.
The weather was perfect so we headed to the State Fair on our first day there.
There were cows being born, cows being groomed…yes they need hair cuts too!, horses, pigs, goats and sheep galore!
Did you know they use laundry detergent to clean a dirty cow?! Yeah, me neither. Crazy Northerners :)
But, truly the most exciting part of the fair is the food. My word the food people. I believe their slogan was something like "Where all the food is on a stick!"
They also had these things called Fried Cheese Curds….behold the beauty of the cheese curd.
George approves.
And then we had French Fries.
Fantastic and tasty french fries. I did mention we liked the food right?
We were about to leave the fair when we sent the boys on a mission to find the famous bucket of fresh baked cookies. We ate them so fast there was no time for a photo. But trust us, they were yummy.
Since we had consumed so much the day before, we spent the rest of the trip walking around town and seeing the sites.
It's a beautiful city to visit, especially with great weather. There are tons of outdoor attractions, parks, trails and bike paths to enjoy. We definitely recommend it!
Thanks again Michael and Kalle! We had a wonderful trip!
