GOAL!

When I was in the hospital, the change of shift nurses would come in, introduce themselves and then talk about what my goal of the day would be.  So on the day of discharge, this is what I saw from my hospital bed.

An empty baby bassinet, because he was in my arms ready to go home.

James' charts hanging askew on the clipboard, signs of the rough night we'd had.

A pile of dirty blankets in his bed after he'd had one heck of a poopy diaper. I was thankful the hospital would be washing those linens.

A whiteboard with the best words I'd heard since "It's a Boy!"…

"Goal: Home."

I now use this same philosophy when I'm home with James. Although the goals are a little bit different now.

"Goal: Shower."

Ha! Those days are so ingrained in my mind. Although I am very impressed (and glad!) you find time to blog!

I am dying laughing right now. That is a great goal to have. In those early days, I am proud to say I did take a shower every.single.day. Now, I won't tell you what time that shower was but I will tell you that I didn't blow dry my hair 95% of those days or put on any makeup! But I was clean!
