James you have been learning so much over the past few months. Your vocabulary has blossomed and you love to tell us all the words you know.
You've been stringing together two word sentances lately like "this way," "thank you mama," thank you mpa mpa," "up please" and "c'mon" but just this month you said your first full sentence and not surprisingly it is "I no want it." HA! It’s quickly become your favorite.
You are really into bugs, trucks, planes, and buses are by far your favorite. No car ride is complete without you describing everything we see on the road.
You have done really well in your new class at school. It took a couple months for you to adjust to the morning drop off, but know you open the door and run to greet your friends. You’re learning lots of new songs and all about the world around you.
Your best buddy these days is our neighbor Grant. We drive by his house every day and you always wave and say Hi and Bye to him. We all play together a couple days a week after school. Its so fun to see you developing relationships with your peers.
Your favorite foods are oatmeal, yogurt “oh-gurt”, cheese, hummus “umm-us”, and broccoli. yes broccoli, by the fist fulls. I never thought I would have to convince my child to eat using broccoli as the bribe.
You are quite the dancer. Anytime we head to the basement you run to the stereo and start the Van Morrison CD and start dancing. It’s more of a running in place, but its adorable. We call it the “running man” and your teachers call you “flash dance”. We're not sure where you inherited these moves.
You are into being independent these days, which means more tantrums, whines, and lots and lots of "no"s. You test our patience daily, but its so amazing to watch you grow into your own person. You love to make decisions about what you will do and of course not do. And you love to help us if we give you a special job to do. As a mom I totally underestimated how much energy it would take to keep you from having a melt down if things don't go your way. It is truly a full time job. But, having a giggle fest with you makes it all worth while.
We love you sweet baby James. Thank you for making our hearts smile.
