Halloween

James was Captain Recycle for Halloween.

We totally made this up. We were inspired back in June when we strapped on a bib cape and then James started digging through the recycling. Captain Recycle was born.

When I found the recycle fabric on sale at the store I knew the costume was meant to be. I sewed the cape and George made his t-shirt. We used one of his cloth diapers for his under-roos.

He was able to wear the costume four times! First up we went to our Neighborhood party and asked Vasili to come too. Is he not the cutest Tiger you’ve ever seen!?

The next day James and Vasili wore their costumes again to the Church Festival. I can’t get over how old James looks in this picture. Crazy!

Although I don’t have any pictures, James was also Captain Recycle at school. As if I needed to give them any more reason to think I’m crazy, I dressed him up to save the world.

Then came actual Halloween night. With trick or treating!

James’ friend Grant came over to ring our doorbell.

And then we headed out with a couple of bananas, a monkey and a banana tree.

The first stop was our neighbor. He was a little apprehensive, but did ok.  By the end of the night he and his banana accomplice were just passing candy back and forth in the wagon and giggling. I’m sure next year he’ll be sprinting to the doors!
