The Front Porch Swing: Anna

Sweet Anna, at 5 months you are 26 inches long, 14.5 pounds and as happy as can be! You’ve been sleeping pretty well at night. By the second half of the month there were just a few nights when you woke up around 5 instead of sleeping through til 7. You take five, 5 ounce bottles a day, give or take of course. You still nurse with each feeding too. You nap 2-3 times a day at about an hour each.

This month you’ve loved your exersaucer. You love reaching for your toys and of course trying to shove them in your mouth.

Of course sometimes all this fun wears you out!! James NEVER fell asleep in random places. I love this fact about you Anna. This gives me hope that you may be able to stop moving when you’re tired in the future instead of winding up more and more (James, I’m talking to you kid!)

We also transitioned you to your crib this month. This was bittersweet for me. I loved having you so close by throughout the night, but I knew it was time for you to have more space. You had definitely out grown the bassinet. Since this picture, I’ve put the bumpers back on. After 3 nights in a row of interrupted sleep with your arms stuck in the rungs, I was over it. We are all very comfortable with your crib sleep now. You love your bumpers and your crib.

Everyone thinks you are teething because you love to chew on everything in sight. You might just beat your brother and get teeth, much sooner than he did!

We celebrated a very happy Valentine’s together as a family.

James is such a good big brother to you, dear Anna. He loves to make you laugh and you certainly enjoy his company. If you’re ever unhappy or in need of some attention, James is right there to sing to you or make you laugh.

He makes you so happy you do a jig!

You have such a sweet spirit Anna. And I love that you hand out smiles so easily.

You have rolled over both ways now, but you haven’t cared to do it more than once. It’s like you checked it off your list and moved on.

You’ve been working on the tripod sit and of course this is made more enjoyable by eating toys. Shortly after this photo was taken, James ripped the airplane out of your hands. I fear this is only the beginning baby girl.
