In order to train your dog, you must first train the human.
A few months after adopting Glory we enrolled her in training class at PetSmart. She sat and shook throughout the entire six week class. The only skill mastered was sit. It was a very scary time for all of us --- especially us humans. We had never had a dog before that didn't respond to treats or training.
Fast forward a few months. We now are the human owners of two dogs. One very timid pointer and one crazy mess of a black georgia dog.
We give up on training Glory and try to self-help-book our way to a better trained Laney dog.
Once returning to Atlanta, we think we can solve all of our dog problems by enrolling Laney in obedience school. We have high hopes that Laney is more trainable than Glory. She does exceptionally well and advances on to a class entitled "Canine Good Citizen."
Feeling convicted about giving treats to one dog and not the other, I attempt treat-training with Glory again.
Internet....tonight Glory shook my hand. I nearly feel over.
Lesson learned by human...don't give up, even on the timid and seemingly untrainable Glory.

When does George start his training?
I feel your pain with two dogs and little obedience.
