When Mail Was Fun

It was just a few short weeks ago when I would open the mail box and get giddy about what was inside.

• Thoughtful Christmas Cards --- some with photos, some with many kind words, and some from many of you
  
• Colorful Catalogs packed to the brim with beautiful gifts and budget breaking shopping ideas
  
• Community Newsletters about upcoming holiday events like Cookies with Santa

But now, now its packed full of depressing news.

• Year-end financial information so I can file my taxes
  
• Bills, Bills, and more Bills
  
• Pay stubs with tax increases for 2009
  
• Reminders of business things we have yet to resolve from Brunswick
  
• Mail with my maiden name, screaming you lazy woman, you've been married for 19 months!!!

I say we bring on New Year's Cards. I don't know about you, but I could use a little cheer even AFTER the holidays.
