Days like today make me miss our home in Brunswick.
The quaint little bungalow on Union Street.
The one with the front porch swing, and views to make any heart swoon.
The sound of Mr. Thompson‘s tennis lessons across the street.
The comfort of the sun shining on my face.
The smell of the marsh blowing in the wind.
The security of a small, historic town street.
The consistency of downtown community festivals.
The way the town shuts down at 9 o’clock.
The changing tides and watching the dogs run for miles.
The sand between my toes.
The corner where Laney found us.
The favorite watering hole blocks from our house.
The Mexican restaurant on the island.
The quiet Saturday mornings with hubby, puppies, and a cup of coffee.
The closeness of God’s ocean-creation.
The opportunities that only a small town can offer.
The friendships we made.
We’ve been gone 7 months now, but love affairs are hard to squelch. Especially ones with a view like this.
