As Days Replace Weeks

I'm Back! And not with a 37 week photo, but a 38 week photo! But not without good reason. Here are the lessons learned between week 37 and 38.

1. Don't make promises you can't keep, ahem blogging.

2. Avoid at all costs pot holes, especially ones large enough to bust two of your car tires.

3. Don't spend too much time out in the cold and rain changing tires, you'll end up terribly ill and in bed for days (poor George).

4. Try your hardest not to get sick two weeks before your wife is due to deliver your first child, it just causes unnecessary stress for everyone involved.

5. Avoid having to take care of a sick husband, two CRAZY cooped up dogs, and a house while 38 weeks pregnant.

6. Don't feel too guilty that you missed your youngest dog child's 2nd birthday due to reasons stated above. She will forgive you, but you still owe her a Happy Meal.

We finally recovered from week 37 in time to take our 38 week photo for your reading enjoyment…

38 weeks

Please note that I am wearing maternity clothes circa 1981. Yes, that same outfit was worn by my mother when she was pregnant with me. I feel very honored to be wearing them with my first child! Best part about the outfit…

Jeans come complete with a stork on the butt!

We also enjoyed some quality time with the dogs in the nursery this weekend.

"Laney and Glory, Meet the Baby!" We play this game a lot. They have no problem with the cabbage patch doll, but when we trade it for a more realistic bigger doll with hair they get a little freaked out. Luckily we're not giving birth to a toddler so they'll have plenty of time to adjust. We hope. Say a prayer just in case :)

Only 9 days til due day…baby has dropped a lot and we're ready to go. Car seat is loaded, crib is made, books have been read, insurance filed, bags packed, diapers stocked and baby clothes are washed! We're so ready to meet Sweet Baby!

Katers you look so pretty! Just a thought about your puppies...my friend Jessi had her husband bring home a blanket from the hospital on the day the baby was born and let her dog sniff it so that she was familiar with the baby's scent. Then when they brought the baby home it was like she already knew her! I'm sure your puppies will get adjusted in no time :)
