James, you have had a very busy first two weeks of life! Once you entered the world its been non stop loving and learning for your dad and I.
It snowed the day after you were born which wasn't good for all our eager visitors! And we finally left the hospital on valentine's day. The nurses were nice enough to send a valentine to your dad and I from you. It was so sweet to find that little love note from you at 5am on 2-14-10. Then we bundled you up and packed up all our stuff and headed out the door and into the snow!
Daddy brought you through our front door for the first time. We hope you love it here too!
After arriving home, we introduced you to your Big Sisters!
The dogs took to you instantly! They knew there was something special about this little bundle we brought home.
James you have also had many firsts since you've been home.
First time in your crib
First time on the changing table
First time in the bouncy seat
First time in the swing
First time sleeping on mama
First visit from Thea Faye
First smiles
First sponge bath (He hated it for the record!)
Also in your first 2 weeks of life we made your first trip to the pediatrician. We received a good bill of health for you, but also an order to recheck some initial blood work. So off your dad and I went to Children's Healthcare to get your lab work done. This was quite possibly the most miserable experience for your mom. Hearing your big cries and seeing your crocodile tears was enough to bring me to tears as well. I just wanted to scoop you up and protect you as they were drawing your blood. I pray for all the mothers out there whose children are enduring much more than needle sticks.
This week we've been lucky enough to have your Mimi home with us some of the time. She was such a big help to us!
And today is our first day home together, just you and I. We had our first outing together…sorry it wasn't more special, but we went to Publix to pick up a few things for you. So far being a mom is hard work, but you're worth every minute of it!
