I feel like this blog has become only about the pregnancy and upcoming baby. And honestly, these days I am wishing there were other things going on to keep my mind off the post 40 week wait. George and I have been enjoying life with just the two of us, well and the dogs. We've gone to dinner, LOTS. We've seen two movies in one week, which is completely unheard of for us. Also unheard of, we actually agreed on what movies we wanted to go and see! And last night instead of watching the Super Bowl with the rest of Americans, we watched TV. You know we actually sat on the couch together, and watched shows on TV. Typically neither one of us has the patience or the ability to let go of other things we "have" to do in order to sit and watch TV. People, this is how ready we are for Nacho Peanut to arrive. It's like we just don't know what else to do with ourselves!
As George left for work this morning, I apologized for not being able to give him Monday off. And yet here I sit on leave with no baby in my arms. I seems really strange to not yet have a reason to not be working. But, I'm trying to use the time wisely and finish up a few things in the nursery that really didn't need to be done before baby came, and to finally go to the grocery store so we can quit eating out!
Although it's only 3 days past the due date now, it seems like FOREVER. We know baby will come out when he/she is ready and we're willing to wait for that day.
40 Weeks
Back at the beginning of my bump growing stage I took this self portrait.
And here I am today.
It was hard to imagine on that 10 week shot how my body would accommodate a full grown baby. And yet here we are, ready to pop.
