Nacho's Nursery Tour

When we first found out we were pregnant, my time was consumed with decorating the perfect nursery. And truthfully, even before we were pregnant! It's crazy to think that now we actually have a decorated nursery and a baby due any day now! This room has evolved over time and will continue to do so when we meet and bring Nacho home, but for now its the most calming and peaceful place in the house. I feel so fortunate to have this nursery to bring baby home to.

Just a quick reminder of where we started Project Nursery…

And here it is today…

The crib bedding is from The Land of Nod. After months of searching for the perfect neutral bedding, I knew I had found it when I finally gave up looking for other ideas after finding this set. The crib itself is just perfect and I can't wait to lay sweet baby down in it for the first time. And yes, that's my very first cabbage patch doll in the bouncer. Her name is Colette and she is a premie :) She's done a great job teaching the dogs what it means to have a baby in the house.

The dresser, and now changing table, was part of my mother's bedroom set growing up. And I've always known it as a part of my grandparent's Guest Room furniture. This makes it so special to me to use now for my little one. The mirror hanging above is also part of the set and will hopefully amuse Nacho during changes. I debated for a while what I wanted to hang on either side of the mirror. George and I happened upon these message boards and I thought it would be nice to display special things the baby has received. Plus it would be good motivation to actually print out digital pictures! Right now I've hung up the ultrasound pictures, cards from showers and pictures of the pups.

I finally hung the quilt today! Maybe that's what Nacho has been waiting on?! I searched high and low for a rug and came across this one randomly at Walmart. It was a perfect size and color for the room and most importantly hides dog hair pretty well!  The rocking chair is the same chair my mother used to rock me in when I was a baby. The yellow toy chest was also hers, made by her father, my Papa. I feel so blessed to have so many personal history items to use for our little one. I look forward to telling them all about what things belonged to who.

And my favorite item in the room…

This little white whicker rocking chair, also part of my mother's bedroom set. The blue chick pillow is part of the bedding set and also the best part I think! He was just too cute to pass up and it fits perfectly with the chair. I can just see Nacho climbing up into this chair for story time or even a photo shoot!

Thanks for coming on the tour…now all we need is the baby! :)

What a sweet tour! I am so excited. The nursery looks perfect, and I loved hearing about all the family items...so special. Tell Nacho , "I love you from Mary Sue!"

Lovely! Darcy's nursery is the most relaxing room in our house too. Now I have to go to Land of Nod to see you bedding up close. That chick is adorable! And you need to go rake leaves or something to make that peanut a little less comfy!

You are still pregnant? When are you going back to the doctor?
