7 Months Old

I’m late with this post James. I’m in denial about how quickly you’re growing and how close you’re getting to one. Your dad better start preparing now for the emotional wreck I will be on your first birthday.

“It’s ok mama, I love you.”

You have been very busy this month. Everything within your sight is exciting, and you’ve loved exploring. You’re still sleeping through the night from about 7:30 – 7:30. You have 5 bottles a day and we’ve been adding in 2 –3 solid food meals too. You nap well at home for sometimes an hour at a time, but most days at school you take 1 or 2 30 minute naps.

It’s been so fun to watch you interact with other children. You went to a couple birthday parties this month and are developing “friends” at school. You love to watch bigger kids walk or crawl and usually start “talking” about how you’d like to get down and join them.

We were at Austin’s birthday party and all of a sudden you started laughing. It took us a minute, but the bunch of balloons was about the funniest thing you had ever seen.

Remember that scrunchy face I was telling you about? This is close…but with your tongue sticking out too.

I also tried something new with you this month. We introduced you to a new texture…whipped cream!! I stuck the paci in, squirted out the squishy stuff and you went to town. Laney Bear also LOVED this activity too. She was right there to help clean you up afterwards.

Look what else you’ve been working on this month? SITTING!

You still wobble and “kaboom” sometimes, but you have improved so much! It’s more a lesson for mom and dad about letting you learn your abilities.

You also wanted me to document you sitting during your monthly photo shoot.

Would you look at that face? You’ve been making the best faces. Top lip in, bottom lip in…all super cute.

You have also started talking more and more. We see this face and hear your grunts and squeals all day long. I try to get you to say “Mama” but it sounds more like “Hi, Hi, Hi.” You have so much to say, I can’t wait to hear it.

This month you tried out the swing for the first time. I think its safe you say that you loved it! We were at your friend Ashton’s birthday party, and it was so much fun to celebrate with him.

You’re not quite moving on your own yet, so I made you this sweet diaper box car. You enjoyed the ride, but were more interested in tipping it over and trying to crawl inside.

Speaking of on the move…please don’t crawl yet James. Mama’s not ready yet. The house isn’t ready yet. Childproofing takes some time and I promise I’m working on it. The other night you had air between your belly and the floor. I almost fell out. Please don’t crawl just yet. But if you do, I promise we’ll still celebrate your achievement!!!

Here’s your monthly growth photo! My you’ve gotten big!

This is what happens more often than not during the session.

James, you are the best baby boy. So full of personality and eager to take in everything around you. We have more and more fun with you everyday. Thank you for adding so much joy to our lives.

James is ADORABLE! He has the cutest little expressions and you guys do a super job taking his pictures! Enjoy your time with him before he is one and I promise 1 isn't as bad as you might think. Love the Ribbit diaper - that's my favorite=)
