For Christmas Eve we headed to my parents house and then to my childhood church for the Children’s service. But just before we left the house my husband said, “take my picture.” And so I did. Mighty handsome I think!
Church was a lot of fun. All the kids participated in the story of Jesus’ birth and we all really enjoyed ourselves. James watched the action, loved the other kids, and made smiley faces at everyone around him. It brought me great joy to be there with my little boy and our family.
Once we got home, James got right to playing with his grandparents and all the fun Christmas things they had, like tangerines!
He also tried out every little wooden chair or rocking horse that my parents have, and they have many! This little antique chair was in my grandparents home and probably homes before theirs.
The baby rocking horse was a big hit. It was hard to get a non-blurry shot of him on it. This was made by James’ great grandfather’s brother, my uncle Art.
And this is my new favorite picture. Love him!
Grampa then helped him tackle the big rocking horse.
Off to the next thing! Jingle Bells! These were the perfect size for him to make sweet holiday noises, loudly.
Mama and James ready to open gifts.
Or he’ll just eat the wrapping paper.
It was a wonderful evening for all of us celebrating Jesus’ birth. We are thankful for all the gifts we’ve been given.
