James, you’re in the double digits now! Congrats little one!
I know, it makes me sad too. You’re growing up so fast. Just in this last month, your hair has really started to grow in and you’re beginning to look more and more like a little boy.
You have mastered crawling and are QUICK these days. You love to pull up on the doggie/baby gates and scream at the dogs on the other side. You are a strong little guy. One day I caught you hanging from the dining room table! I had no idea you were such a muscle man.
You’ve been sick this month too, complete with a snot nose and ear infection. You even missed two days of school, poor baby.
Speaking of school, I had a parent – teacher conference this month. They call you their busy body, and I think this pretty much sums you up. You love to explore things and like leading the other kids in games of pushing the cribs around. On the other hand you like to have your own space and have learned how to keep the other kids at bay by swatting at them with toys. HA!
The picture above shows off some of your favorite toys at home. That purple ball in the foreground is your absolute favorite. You like to take it everywhere. It belongs to the work bench in the background which is another favorite. The activity table is great too. You’ve figured out how to make it play music and are even able to do this with your tummy. Anything that plays music makes you stop and clap your hands. It’s adorable! Your favorite song is still “if you’re happy and you know it.”
You’re wearing those crazy socks because we headed outside in the cold to rake leaves together one Saturday. You were kind of entertained and let me get most of the way through the front yard before you were over this set up.
Its been so fun having you experience new things with us. We put up our tree this month and you are enthralled with it! I love to watch the wonder in your eyes. Christmas is going to be so fun James!
You have been cruising the furniture these days and can stand on your own for a second. We also changed up your schedule a little in order to help you nap more at school. So I don’t forget: you are taking a bottle at 7, breakfast at 8:30, nap at 9 or 9:30, bottle at 11, lunch at 12:30, nap at 1, bottle at 3, dinner at 5:30 and bottle and bed around 7. At school we sometimes get you to take two naps and they often feed you two snacks while you’re there too. This seems like a crazy amount of food to me, am I crazy? You are getting better about using your sippy cup for water and juice. You like finger foods, but still have no teeth which means you swallow a lot of things whole! This next month we’re going to have to work on chewing I think.
In addition to your first word, “uh oh,” you’ve learned how to drop things this month. What fun for your parents, HA! Sometimes you give us warning by saying uh oh before you even drop the toy. You are developing quite the personality. I love listening to you talk to yourself on the way home from school. You’ve also mastered this fake laugh that just cracks you up, and me!
And here is my GIANT baby!! Is it just me or has he grown so much since last month?! James you’ve stretched out a lot and are in 12 – 18 month jammies and clothes are mostly 12 month. We’ve also started to get you used to wearing shoes this month, just in case you were thinking about walking soon. No hurry though. And look how easy it was to get you to not roll over this month!
And here’s the reality…aka Bribe. Whatever works right?
Just 5 months ago, you looked like this
And now this! What a sweet boy you are James.
We love you so much and are amazed and proud of each of your new accomplishments. Thank you for making us smile. Happy 10 Months James!
