The Saturday before Easter we had the family over for an egg hunt. James was a complete natural…with a little help from his Easter Bunny.
I was truly impressed at how eager he was to collect them all. He had a great strategy of leaving the basket in one spot and then bringing all the eggs to the basket.
Since this was Vasili’s first Easter, he called in some help. I think this picture is hilarious…his mom and grandfather are enthusiastically pointing to the eggs and he just wants to hold the basket.
“Fine, I’ll put the egg in the basket then.”
“Hey Mama! Check this out!”
“I’m hot stuff!”
We tried to get a cute cousin shot, but even with the help of our cheering squad…
We had a melt down instead.
Lucky for Vasili, his beautiful mama came to his rescue.
This was about the time James discovered that the eggs were filled with snacks. He opened every single egg and ate every single snack while the grandparents looked on and laughed.
On Easter morning we celebrated Christ’s resurrection with great praise! In the Greek tradition we cracked the red eggs (representing Jesus’ blood sacrifice) with one another. This was James’ first turn!
Sadly, this is one of the few pictures of James in his Easter outfit. I love this little John John and was excited for him to wear it. That morning I also discovered the only collared shirt I had for him was about 3 sizes to small. Thankfully the John John hid the fact that only the top button was buttoned. Oh, and his only pair of white shoes were also 2 sizes too small. Poor kid.
Mama and James at church
Family photo…we definitely need to get better at this!
After church we came home (changed into something that fit) and opened James’ basket. He got some gardening tools, bath toys, bubbles and a new kiddy cup with a straw!
Thank you Jesus for your ultimate sacrifice. We love you! And Happy Easter to All.
Christ is Risen. Xristos Anesti.

Greek tradition is so neat! I love reading about it here. And your fella is as handsome as they come with his new haircut!
