Anna–7 Months

Anna at 7 months you weigh 17 pounds and are 27.5 inches long. You are wearing 6 – 9 month clothes and mostly 9 month in footie jammies. You are taking 5, 6 oz bottles and have been eating table foods a little bit more. We’ve tried a little baby led weaning and have been successful with broccoli, carrots and sweet potatoes and some fruits like nectarines, pears and mango. However, this style of feeding is not for the faint of heart!! I wish we could figure out a way to make this work better because you love to feed yourself and don’t care much for me trying with a spoon. If anyone has any tips, please let me know!

You also celebrated your first Easter this month. The bunny was good to you, but your brother of course had to open your basket for you.

I look at this picture and think it looks timeless. Like every younger sibling has been in this particular picture before.

See what I mean? haha.

Here’s one just for my memories to prove that you actually do frown sometimes!

We’ve had some crazy weather this month, but have enjoyed getting outside with you. The weather may have also been the cause of your first ear infection, well double ear infection. Poor thing.

You had your first time in the swing this month! And you loved it!

And I think James loved it just as much as you did. You certainly enjoyed looking at him while he gave you “gentle” pushes in the swing.

You have been sleeping really well at night and this picture was probably the last time you were in a swaddle, well over a month ago now. You still love to hang onto your bumpers while you sleep and have now started flipping all the way over onto your belly while you sleep.

You also stopped napping well at school. You are now only taking one 30 minute nap all day. James did this too and it drove me insane. I felt so bad for him and now you too! You need your sleep sweet girl! Your teachers say they’ve tried everything and that you’re just a social girl and don’t want to sleep.

“Who me?”

You’ve become a lot more interactive over the past month.

DSC03966

And just seem to love having fun!

You’ve also learned to bang your toys together or to bang them on your high chair tray. One night I turned around to tell James to quit making so much noise and realized it was you!

This picture cracks me up with your hand and foot doing the same pose.

We also play the game “Where’s Anna” and put a burp cloth over your head. Mimi also taught you to put it over your head by your self! You love to pull it off when we say “where’s Anna?!” And your smile peeking through is just too cute.

You’ve also started to push your arms through your sleeves and you like to help me take your shirts off your head when I’m changing you.

And one more big milestone for this month…you sat in the grocery cart for the first time! You have been sitting confidently for the last week or two and so we thought it was high time for a trip to Trader Joes! You did very well and were such a huge help to me! Now I actually have room in the cart for groceries!

Perhaps you’ll be a singer one day, you definitely know how to work a microphone!

DSC04033

It was tough to get your monthly pictures this month. Its been cloudy and raining for far too long, so I just had to work with the light I had.

You said don’t worry mama, I’ve got this.

DSC04059

And even though you were probably hungry, you still smiled for me!

DSC04047

You also love to give these big slobbery kisses. You grab my hair or my face with two hands and then plant this huge wide open mouth kiss on my cheek. Melts my heart.

DSC04050

You’ve been “talking” a lot this month too. Saying things like “mamamamama” and “babababababa” which takes care of George and I!

Nicknames are Anner, Punks, Punky, or Punker, and Sweet Pudge (this one is courtesy of your teacher at school).
