Every year on James’ birthday we have taken a family field trip. This year we went to see “The Adventures of Mighty Bug” at the center for puppetry arts. It was enjoyable for all of us. When we pulled in the parking lot, the building was evacuated and there were fire trucks every where. It was a false alarm, but our birthday boy enjoyed checking out all the trucks and buses in the parking lot.
Anna and I stayed in the car and made funny faces.
She did a great job during the show!
We were also thrilled to find this Sid the Science Kid display in the lobby. This is James’ favorite show and he was stunned to see it up close in real life.
We celebrated the night before his birthday with a cake with the grandparents. This series of photos perfectly portrays James’ personality.
Sweet and happy!
Loud and very excited!
Curious and adventurous.
It was at this point we realized that he actually bit the end off the candle and started chewing. Poor kid just wanted to eat that cake!
On his birthday morning, we put streamers across his doorway for him to run through. Instead he crawled underneath. Last year when we did this, George put too many and he wasn’t able to push through easily. Maybe next year?
And since it was a school day, we had birthday oatmeal cupcakes before school.
How old are you James?!
George and I went to James’ class to celebrate with his friends. We brought apples and sunflower butter dip. It was a hit! They made him this HUGE crown that he wouldn’t take off. He also came to my office after school to visit my co workers.
Our gift to James this year was this awesome train table we found on Craigslist. It came with a ton of tracks and trains and we hope to have many more years of fun with it!
Happy birthday sweet boy!! We love you!
