This past weekend I was able to visit with two very good friends of mine who are both pregnant and due this fall. On Saturday I made the trip up to Greer, SC for a baby shower for my college roomie Amanda. She was glowing with that "I'm going to be a mommy" beauty and I was so pleased to see her and catch up. It was also so much fun to talk with old friends Caroline and Christy too!
After years of traveling back and forth to Clemson, I became very fond of one particular tree on the side of hwy 85. It is in the center median just about a mile from the state line into South Carolina. Every time I see this tree memories of college come flooding back. I'm reminded of the independence and adventure that Clemson brought me. I also knew that I was almost finished with the drive and back on campus. This tree also greets me now as I head back for football games and visits with old friends. And one day I hope this tree will greet me on my way to my summer home on the lake.
We also celebrated Saturday with Georgemas, a unique birthday party for Cousin George. Good times were had by all, even George who received the best gift yet!
The excitement continued on Sunday morning with a bee sting to my foot (insert sad face here) and a visit from our good friends Libba and David! Libba has about 7 weeks left before meeting her mystery baby! I can't wait to meet the little one.
