5:30am - James wakes up bright and early. I desperately try to get him to go back to sleep.
7:00am - I give in and get up and feed James and get ready and do everything else that has to be done before we can leave the house for school. Meanwhile George is up wrangling the mutts, bless him.
9:00am – 1:00pm Phone rings off the hook as my boss and the rest of my department are all out on vacation.
1:15pm – Realize lunch is only in my dreams.
1:30pm – Head to hospital to measure a copy machine. Nobody said my job was thrilling.
2:00 – 3:15pm – Meeting, that had nothing to do with the copy machine.
3:15 – 3:30pm Power walk to my car and rush to pick up James.
3:45pm – Pediatrician’s office for sick and fussy baby.
3:50pm – Diagnosis: ear infection.
4:00pm –To the Pharmacy to pick up the pink stuff. (By the way, it smells just as good as it did when I was a kid. Yum.)
4:30pm – James gets his bottle, 30 mins. late, in the car. No amount of air conditioning makes this a comfortable experience for either of us.
4:45pm – James finishes bottle, and spits up on my pants. Awesome.
5:00pm – Meet up with George and a friend.
5:50pm – Go to Publix to pick up random items. Bagger tells me to “Stay Cool” and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because I was driving my husband’s “vintage” BMW and more that I looked like a soggy mess because it was SO DANG HOT!
6:15pm – Give James a bath. Wish I could take a bath too.
6:45pm – Feed James
7:15pm – Realize that dinner is not going to happen tonight and opt for egg sandwich instead.
7:30pm – Head to Blakely’s to spend quality time with my girlfriends before my bestie moves to Texas.
8:00pm – 10:45pm – Arrive. Relax. Enjoy.
I have completely underestimated the importance of girl time lately. Thank you ladies for sharing your time with me.
(Kate, Margaret-15 years, Blakely- 19 years, Amanda- 15 years of friendship.)
Sweet Margaret, I’m going to miss you something Crazy.
