13 Months Old

James you weigh 24.5 pounds and are wearing a size 4 diaper and mostly 18 month clothes.

You are developing more and more personality and love to make us laugh.

On a recent road trip you put your blanket on your head and just waited for us to notice you…

and we laughed and laughed. I think it was just the reaction you were hoping for.

You are now walking all of the time and are very excited at your new ability. We spend most of our time chasing after you trying to make sure you don’t crash into furniture.

You love to blow kisses, wave bye bye, give high fives and open and shut doors.

You’ve also been spending more and more time outside and are becoming more independent on the playground. You climb stairs, crawl through the tunnel, slide down slides, and push cars around.

You are still a great eater and like more complex combinations of foods now. You can eat most everything we have for supper. Your favorites are bananas, yogurt, cheese, green beans, beans of any kind, breads and crackers. You still don’t eat much meat.

You FINALLY have a tooth!! Well, half a tooth. It is taking a long time to come in, but there is most definitely a tooth in your mouth.

This month you have really started enjoying me reading your books to you. This makes me so happy. Your favorite book is called “Noisy Cars,” how appropriate right?! It’s a great book for you complete with buttons to push that sound like cars! You almost sit still long enough for me to read “Goodnight Moon” to you as well.

You are beginning to figure out how things go together and love putting things together and taking them apart again. You constantly surprise your dad and I with how quickly you pick things up.

You are starting to use more words too. Your favorite by far is “No.” Anytime someone asks you a question you shake your head and say “No.” It’s too cute. You also say the dogs names which kind of sound like “Dor Dor” and “Nay Nay.” You say dog, more, mama and mpa mpa. There are several other words that are close to becoming understandable.

James you are such a sweet lovable little boy who gives out plenty of smiles. We love to hear you laugh and love that you are making us laugh more and more. Thank you for being you!!
