James had his first Skype experience last week. We talked with his Great Grams who is in Florida. My Dad was down visiting and helped set it up for us to talk with Grams and Aunt Dorothy. This was so much fun!! James was able to clap and smile with them and “talk” with them. He also showed them how he likes to shove fistfuls of black beans in his mouth for dinner.
And since the picture on the computer screen was so small, this is my beautiful Great Grams with her beautiful amaryllis. We definitely wish we lived closer together, but Skyping is a wonderful way to keep in touch over the miles!
Grams also sent James some coins to put in his new piggy bank. He eyed them and licked his lips thinking they were food for sure!
He was a little disappointed for a minute, but then really enjoyed hearing them clink to the bottom. He even used his sign for “more” so I would give him more coins to put in.
I was so proud that he was able to drop the coins into the bank…save a few that he attempted to put in his mouth!
He loved this activity and I hope he’ll always enjoy saving money. Wait, does that make me a nerdy mom? I also hope he’ll enjoy learning to count using his coins, maybe he’ll be a banker or something. Ok, I’m pretty sure that makes me a complete nerd, but that doesn’t make me any less proud that he mastered this skill.
