James George! You’re almost there! This month you turned 11 months on the 11th and we spent the day still snowed in. You’ve had many snows in your young life, what a lucky little guy.
By our best guess you are around 23 pounds and are definitely lengthening out. I had to clean out your dresser drawers this month. You are in 12 month and some 18 month clothes. You have four bottles a day with 5 – 7 ounces each. You also have three meals a day and usually an afternoon snack. There has yet to be a food you won’t eat. I usually distract you with finger foods so I can spoon feed you too. You have completely mastered the sippy cup.
Typically you throw your head back and drink like its been days since your last sip. Too funny.
Like I’ve mentioned before, you are BUSY! You love exploring everything around you and move from one thing to the next.
This month you figured out what it means to lean on things. We often find you relaxing in between bursts of craziness.
We’ve been trying to include you in our family meals more now that you’re eating more and more table food. Melts my heart to see these two together.
You still sleep really well at night, and praise the Lord you are napping better at home. You still will not sleep more than about 30 minutes at school, but at home you take an hour to hour and a half nap twice a day. This makes for some very happy parents.
One of your favorite things to do is take off your socks and shoes. Sometimes it’s a struggle to take them off and boy does this frustrate you. Your go to noise for frustration is screaming. Loudly.
This month you were able to meet my dear friend Courtney. She is currently in Vanuatu in the Pacific volunteering with the Peace Corps, but was home for a few weeks over the holidays. You took to her so easily and just laughed and laughed. I loved it! We miss you Courtney!
Sweet Courtney.
This pictures makes me laugh every time I see it. It looks like you’re striking a pose! And that belly, too much!
Your favorite toy is still a ball. We’ve made an entire bucket dedicated to them now. You have learned how to throw them and we love that we can play catch with you. You also really like the push toys and have a funny little Frankenstein walk you do.
You have also showed more interest in your books. It sounds like you’re reading them to yourself. A couple times you’ve come up to me with a book and “asked me” to read to you.
James you also celebrated a new year this month too! You sported a cute party hat and were sure to eat your black eyed peas for good luck!
Right after the new year your friend Connor from Brunswick came to visit. You two are so cute just 3 months apart. What one boy did the other had to do too!
James you love playing with anything that makes music. There’s a toy at school similar to the one below that I have to drag you away from at the end of the day. You love to turn it on and then just boogie! It’s so fun to watch and your teachers and I just stand there and laugh with you.
Has anyone seen my baby? I think he grew up! We had to capture a picture in the most grown up outfit you’ve worn yet.
This outfit also made it very apparent that you have the beginnings of a mullet baby James. Mama is just not quite ready to trim it.
James you just keep growing! And these shots keep getting harder and harder to get. You were staring out the door and paused just long enough to let me get a photo.
But then you were at the door pulled up looking out at the snow.
This picture pose just makes me laugh now. How naïve I was to think you’d still fit on a blanket that small 11 months later, much less sit still. Oh well, its not about getting smiles any more its about getting anything before you crawl away and are on to the next thing.
James, you are such a curious little boy and we have enjoyed experiencing many firsts and a lot of fun with you this month. Thank you for crawling over and pulling up to say hi to me. It makes me so very happy.
