By Day 4 I was getting desperate for news things to hold his attention. We’d spent day 2 and 3 splitting our time between upstairs and down. This actually resulted in him learning how to climb the stairs all the way to the top! Where do they learn these things! He doesn’t have stairs to practice on anywhere but home. But, James was pretty much over his toys, even with me rotating them in and out.
So on Day 4 I vowed to be more creative. His absolute favorite thing to do is take things out of containers, off of shelves out of cabinets…read DESTRUCTION! During his morning nap, I ran around the house collecting random things to put in this shoebox.
Here is James discovering the shoebox.
Packed with kitchen utensils
His nose sucker
A headband. (Later in the afternoon he thought it was the funniest thing in the world to have me put it on my head and then have him take it off. He just laughed and laughed. Too cute!)
A random lint brush I didn’t even know we had.
His own remote control so he’ll quit taking ours.
He was really excited about everything and he told me all about it. (This is his talking face.)
But hands down, the best item in the box was this hairbrush. My 1990 round brush that has been stuck in my hair, and at one point in my life my bangs, no less than 5 times in my life.
Think he might be teething? We hope so!
He decided to crawl over and tell me “thank you!” for making him a special activity. (What do you think, are those teeth under his gums in the front?!)
My sweet precious baby’s face in my hand. Love him!
Those eyes, they get me every time.
And usually make up for his path of destruction.
I think its back to work and school for us tomorrow James, but I have loved being home with you this week. Despite your teething and busy body tendencies.

I love that it's always the simplest things that captivate them. And you get such great pictures of that little guy and his amazing eyes!
